Privacy of Personal Information
Collection and Retention of Personal Information
Upon a prospective member's application, Wikimedia Philippines, Inc. ("WMPH") may collect that person's contact information to the extent permitted by Philippine laws. These information may include, but is not limited to:
- complete name;
- place of residence;
- date of birt
- phone number (residential, office and/or mobile); and
- e-mail address.
To such extent permitted by Philippine laws, WMPH will collect and reserves the right to retain the least amount of personally identifiable information needed to fulfill WMPH's operational needs.
Subject to Philippine laws and to the provisions of the succeeding sections of this policy, WMPH also reserves the right to retain personal information of applicants whose applications have been declined, and members who have separated from WMPH or whose membership has been terminated by the Board in accordance with the bylaws.
Access to Personal Information
Access to the roster of members, including their personal information, shall be restricted on a need-to-know basis. This access shall be granted to (but not limited to)
- the President;
- the Secretary;
- other officers and members of the Board of Trustees ("Board"); and
- the members of the membership committee.
No person beyond the persons named in the preceding paragraph shall be granted access to the roster of members and their personal information without the prior authorization of the Board.
Disclosure of Members' Personal Information
Persons who have access to members' information (as enumerated in the previous section) shall not divulge or disclose any such information to other members or third parties without the consent of the said member, except:
- upon an order or subpoena by a court of law in the Philippines; or
- with prior authorization and with a resolution approved by the Board of Trustees.
