The Board of Trustees of Wikimedia Philippines is the managing and governing body of the organization. It is composed of nine Trustees as provided under its Sixth Article of Incorporation. The Board was originally made up of seven Trustees who served from the time Wikimedia Philippines was incorporated on April 12, 2010 until June 15, 2013. On December 11, 2012, the membership in the Board increased to nine with the approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission of the organization's amendment to its Articles of Incorporation.
Role and structure
The corporate powers of the Board are defined under Section 1, Article IV of the By-laws. The Board is headed by the Chairman of the Board who is substituted by the Vice Chairman in the former's absence. The Chairman of the Board presides in all meetings of the body.
Apart from the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Board, the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer are elected by the Trustees from among themselves. The Trustees in turn are elected by the general membership for a term of two years, five trustees every even-ending years and four every odd-ending years.
JP Antes became official member of Wikimedia Philippines on April 30, 2012. Since then, he becomes an active member participating in Chapter's various meetings and activities. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Wikimedia Philippines. He also served the chapter as Vice-President from 2013 to 2014 and as Board Secretary from 2014 to 2016. He was one of the representatives to 2014 Wikimania held in London. He was also the representative of the WMPH Board of Trustees to the Board Governance Training Workshop held last August 7, 2014 at the Office of Wikimedia UK 56-64 Leonard Street EC2A 4LT, London, United Kingdom.
Through the Japanese development scholarship (JDS) program, JP lived and studied in Japan for two years from 2009 to 2011 where he was conferred with Master of Arts in International Business and Development Studies from Sophia University (上智大学, pronounced as Jōchi Daigaku), Yotsuya campus, Tokyo, Japan. His case study ‘Brightening Philippine Airlines (PAL): Strategizing for the Future of Asia's Pioneer and Sunniest Air Transporter’ was published in Tokyo as part of the book: Case Studies in Asian Management (edited by Parissa Haghirian). He is also a graduate of Master of Public Administration from National College of Public Administration and Governance of University of the Philippines.
JP is a civil servant, serving the Philippine government for more than a decade now. At present, JP is connected with the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) and is responsible for the enforcement of policies on bioethanol(from sugarcane/molasses/sugar) and sugar production in Luzon area. He is also a speaker and facilitator for trainings on Student Leadership, Gender & Development, Climate Change, and Child Labor. Prior to this, he was a Legislative Staff Officer of Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago and was involved then in bill drafting and legal research. He was one of the Planning Officers in Council for the Welfare of Children and became an advocate of early childhood care and development (ECCD).
JP is a Peer Reviewer for Asia Pacific Social Science Review (APSSR), an internationally refereed journal published biannually by the De La Salle University, Manila. It promotes theoretical, comparative, and methodological papers with emphasis on contemporary issues related to economics, politics, development, society, and international relations in Asia and Pacific contexts.

Nick is currently a Senior Software Developer focusing on Web Development on an international independent software vendor that specializes in metering, analyzing, and optimizing usage of critical IT assets. An active member of UP Alumni Association Quezon province currently serving as secretary. I'm also an active volunteer mapper to different maps (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Waze).
Josh Lim served as the Head Organizer of Wikimedia Philippines, having conceptualized the idea of a Philippine local chapter in September 2006 along with another Wikipedian, until the chapter was incorporated in April 2010, where he became the chapter's first President. He also served as the chapter's Vice-President from 2011 to 2012, and Secretary from 2013 to 2014.
His involvement in Wikipedia began in April 2005, when he first started editing the English Wikipedia while living in the United States. He then joined the Tagalog Wikipedia in June 2005 after moving back to the Philippines, and later took part in other Wikimedia projects and activities in the Philippines, including participating in the first meetup of Wikipedians in Manila in May 2007. With over 15,000 edits across all projects, Josh is active on multiple language Wikipedias, as well as Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikivoyage and Wikimedia Commons.

Emman is currently the Vice President of Wikimedia Philippines Inc. His involvement with Wikimedia pushed him to bring Wiki Loves Monuments in the Philippines back in 2012, which became one of the most successful projects of the Chapter.
At present, Emman is handling risk management for a renewable energy firm for about three years. Prior to this, he spent half a decade of his career in risk management for a multinational financial institution. Emman's professional skills include project management, organizational resilience, enterprise risk management, crisis communications and corporate planning.
Boj Ordonio has been in the corporate world working for the same Multinational financial institution for about 8 years. He is also an MA Education major in Biology candidate in UP Diliman as well as a B2 Level Spanish language student in the Instituto Cervantes de Manila. Recently, he accepted a part time position as a Senior High School teacher where he will impart knowledge in the area of Life and Earth science to the students of AMA Colleges. He was part of Wikimedia and Smart Communication’s Tap and Learn Project and as well with future development program for Philippine Content in Spanish.
Eugene is a long-time Wikipedian, having started editing the English Wikipedia in 2002 and having helped building up the Filipino Wikimedian community, resulting to the founding of Wikimedia Philippines. He is also active in OpenStreetMap Philippines, a local community that contributes to the OpenStreetMap project, often described as the "Wikipedia for maps". Currently he is the Treasurer of the WMPH. He previously held the Secretary position for the 2011–2012 term, the President position for the 2012–2014 term, and the Chairman position for 204-2016. He finished his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering course at the University of the Philippines.
Roel Balingit is among the incorporators and original trustees of Wikimedia Philippines. Roel has served as Treasurer since the chapter was founded in 2010. He spearheads the working group to obtain accreditation from the Philippine Council for NGO Certification to qualify Wikimedia Philippines to become a certified "Donee Institution" of the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
His involvement in Wikimedia projects started (officially) in April 2006, when he began contributing to the English Wikipedia, he eventually ventured to the Tagalog Wikipedia in June 2009. Since then he has had over 9,000 and 2,000 edits in the English and Tagalog Wikipedias, respectively. He also participated in the first Manila Wikipedia Meet-up in May 2007.

Vera Villocido has over twenty (20) years of experience in education, local governance and social development with specific skills in teaching, participatory training, research, documentation, participatory local governance, social work and community community development. Her most recent consultancy assignments were with The Asia Foundation as Project Coordinator of the Tourism Senior High School Industry Linkage Program with the Bohol Association of Hotels Resorts and Restaurants (BAHRR), and as coordinator of the provincial and national launch of the Abot Alam program for Out of School Youth with DepEd. She has also been the area coordinator of Synergeia Foundation in Bohol, Philippines, especially in the implementation of the USAID-funded Hugpong sa Pagbangon Project. And the documentation consultant of PRMF, as well as of Metrocentre Hotel, South Palms Resort and BAHRR in the Industry SkillsGrant Scheme of the DOT-ADB-Canada Technical Assistance Project on Improving Competitiveness in Tourism in the Philippines. She was a high school science teacher at the East Side Union High School District in San Jose California from 2001 - 2007 and a college instructor at the Divine Word College of Tagbilaran now Holy Name University from 1992 - 2001.
Ms. Villocido completed her degree in B.S. Biology from the University of the Philippines and B.S. Nursing from Holy Name University. She holds an MA in Education major in Science Education from Holy Name University.
Paolo Barazon is among the incorporators and original trustees of Wikimedia Philippines. He was its first secretary and, with Josh Lim, was one of WMPH's first delegates to the Wikimedia Chapters Conference in Berlin, in 2010. He made his first edit on the English Wikipedia in October 2005 and has contributed to the other Wikimedia projects. He also attended the first Wikipedia Meet-up in Manila in May 2007.
He is a software developer/engineer specializing in Python. Outside work and outside WMPH, he is a church musician and keyboardist.
Butch's involvement in WMPH started in a community meetup he organized last May 20, 2007 when 8 complete strangers appeared to be known as Manila 1. 3 years after that meeting, the charter of the organization was laid out and he was one of the founders.
Since then, Butch wasted no time and accomplished several WMPH projects which include the following:
- 1. WMPH's Launch at Philippine Youth Congress in IT - our organization's first project: conference talk and exhibition that draw many participants from the youth sector and academe;
- 2. WMPH participation at Software Freedom Day 2011 and 2012 - it opened partnership and collaboration with like minded non-profit organizations like Mozilla Philippines, Computer Professionals Union;
- 3. Initiated the dialogue and collaboration with the Filipino MediaWiki users, developers and system admins.
- 4. Participated and involved in most WMPH activities whether it is community meetings, outreach through Open Web Day, exhibitions, congressional hearing, dialogue with government agencies, online chat whose objective is to promote the welfare of our readers, our editors and our nation as a whole;
- 5. Developed our own website, and our social media presence;
- 6. Actively involved to network with civic, IT and government institutions and find common interests, programs and projects our organization would be involved;
- 7. Initiated a dialogue and benchmarking with neighboring Asia Pacific Wikimedia chapters;
- 8. Initiated and revived talks to organize the Philippine Wikimedia Communities in Eastern Visayas, Pangasinan and Pampanga. Had been first line of contact on the Bicol Wikimedia Community on their projects and programs.
On the sidelines, he edit many articles and text in various Wikimedia projects, uploaded many multimedia content on Wikimedia Commons and subscribed and involved on its mailing lists. He participated in the 9th Wikimania Conference and was involved in discussions on technology and outreach.
Juan Bautista H. Alegre
Johnny Alegre is officially retired from Ayala Land, Inc. (18 years tenure) as of January 2011. Past expertise prior to corporate “retirement” are as follows:
- Content Management and Information Technology: expert in the preparation, management and delivery of cost-effective, well-planned and strategic content and technology infrastructure.
- Experienced in conceptual development through project assembly and proofing, both for emerging Internet-based systems integration of *Social Networking, Points-of-Sale and hardcore technology. Well-versed in turnkey solutions and managing inter-disciplinary competencies, vendors and operating units for small, medium and large-scale implementations up to P80M per project.

He is also a renowned jazz guitarist and composer from Manila, Philippines. He leads the jazz group, Johnny Alegre AFFINITY, as well as the world music group, HUMANFOLK. Johnny Alegre is profiled in the book, "The Great Jazz Guitarists: The Ultimate Guide"(Published by Hal Leonard, April 23, 2013) by the prolific jazz historian, Scott Yanow. In early 2014, MCA Music released an album entitled Stories, featuring highlights from Johnny Alegre’s seminal recordings with Candid Records.
Jenna Delos Reyes
| position }} Jenna joined Wikimedia Philippines in 2011. Since then, her involvements with the organization were more on the GLAM projects. In 2012, she was part of the project team for Wiki Loves Monuments. She was the project lead of the Wiki loves Monuments in 2013. She was also one of the official representatives of the Chapter for the Wikimedia Conference 2014 held in Berlin, Germany.
Eric is a contributor (on varying degrees) to various Wikimedia projects, most commonly to the English and Tagalog Wikipedia. He joined Tagalog Wikipedia (Tagalog is one of the main regional language of the Philippines and basis of Filipino, the national language of the Philippines) in 2004.
Marco San Andres
It was in 2009 when Marco joined the Wikimedia Philippines during the UP's Y4IT event. He becomes active in Wikimedia Philippines since then. Being in the Information Technology field, his projects involved mainly on the technical side. Among the projects which he made (or co-made) are the Wikimedia Philippines blog, and the Wikipedia Philippines Heritage Mapping website. He was involved in speaking engagements about the MediaWiki, the software that runs Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects. He was privileged to represent the Philippines in the 2012 Berlin Hackathon in Germany under full sponsorship. Aside from that, he also actively participated in other WMPH activities, meetings, etc.
Vanj is a Wikimedian since 2012 after they conducted the Open Web Day in Pangasinan in partnership with the Pangasinan Provincial Government. She was involved in Pangasinan Wikimedia community. She held the position of Vice Chairman in 2013-2014.
